  • Electricity
    • The standard voltage in Dublin is 230 volts, and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Irish outlets use the Type G plug (three rectangular pins in a triangular shape as shown below), which is the same plug used throughout the United Kingdom.
    • Consider bringing a universal adapter and converter set, which has several types of plugs in one unit that can be used in several different countries. Most laptops and phone chargers have dual voltage (100-240V), meaning they require only an adapter, not a voltage converter.
    • Note: Due to safety regulations in Ireland, standard 3-pin electrical outlets are not available in bathrooms. Instead, bathrooms are equipped only with low-voltage, hard-wired shaver outlets. If you need to use appliances such as a hair dryer or curling/straightening iron, please plan to use an outlet in the bedroom.
